... riding on a pony,
he stuck his cane into a chap
and called him a Stupid Nully!

Andrew Jackson is the most kickass president of all time! Here are some facts about him:

♥ He is the United States's 7th president.
♥ He tackled tough issues in his presidency, such as solving the Nullification Crisis and cleaning up the mess the U.S. Bank had made.
♥ He was known by nicknames such as King Andy, Andy Veto, and Ol' Hickory. The last one was because he carried around a hickory cane he'd beat people with.
♥ His political strategies included getting angry until he got what he wanted. When the opposing party walked out of the room, Jackson would often ask, "Did they think I was mad at them?"
♥ Once, a man tried to assassinate Jackson. He came at him with two guns. The would-be assassin's guns BOTH misfired. Jackson proceeded to beat the guy with his cane until someone could pull him away.
♥ Jackson dueled with another prominent U.S. figure, Charles Dickinson (not Dickens). Knowing Dickinson was a good shot, he let him fire first (no that is not a mistype). Dickinson promptly shot Jackson, only for Jackson to retaliate by killing Charles Dickinson. Jackson carried the bullet from the duel in his body until his death.

Ahaha. This is so cute. Look at him with that stick. D'aww.

Actually though, I think that Jackson earned the nickname of Old Hickory when he took his militia down to Natchez. Congress told him to disband the troops when they arrived because they weren't needed and Jackson disobeyed the order to get his men back home together. So the soldiers said he was as tough as hickory.

Man, what a badass.

Why man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colussus.

If I recall it was a combination of those two things. I had forgotten that detail though. My history's a little rusty x]
